Warranty

 Thank you for your interest in the products and services of EMG Precision. This Limited Warranty applies to physical goods, and only for physical goods, purchased from EMG Precision (the "Physical Goods").

  1. What does this limited warranty cover?

This Limited Warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the Warranty Period. During the Warranty Period, EMG Precision Ltd. will repair or replace, at no charge, products or parts of a product that proves defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.

 

What will we do to correct problems?

With a valid warranty claim EMG Precision Ltd. will either repair the Product at no charge, using new  replacement parts, or replace the unit. This is at the discretion of EMG Precision Ltd. If the spindle is fully replaced the original faulty spindle becomes the property of EMG Precision Ltd.

 

How long does the coverage last?

The Warranty Period for Physical Goods purchased from EMG Precision Ltd. is twelve months from the date of purchase or 1800 hours of work, whichever comes first. A replacement Physical Good or part assumes the remaining warranty of the original Physical Good or twelve months from the date of replacement or repair, whichever is longer.

 

What does this limited warranty not cover?

This Limited Warranty does not cover any problem that is caused by:

  • Conditions, malfunctions or damage not resulting from defects in material or workmanship.

  • Spindle crashes – evidenced by high run-out of dimpling on bearing races.

  • Damage that is caused by using the spindle for purposes greater than its capacity, e.g. a too fast or heavy cut that causes damage.

  • Actuation while running.

  • Incorrect use or connection of electrics, pneumatics or hydraulics.

  • Contamination inside spindle from pneumatic airlines

  • Overheating of spindle due to cooling system failure or abuse.

  • Damage incurred while shipping or mounting of spindle e.g. drops, impacts, shocks, etc.

  • Improper tooling used – out of balance or bent tooling, exceeding speed parameters of tooling & spindle.

  • Improper mounting of spindle – looseness or worn slides, clamping damage by over tightening or outside of defined clamping area.

  • Operation while in damaged condition- e.g. running with overly worn or damaged bearings or high vibration exposure.

  • Damage from improper storage and exposure to the elements, i.e. water damage

  • Improper voltage or voltage spikes due to failing equipment, or other incorrect electrical condition.

  • Operator error or failure of associated machinery resulting in damage.

 

What do you have to do?

To obtain warranty service, you must first contact us to determine the problem and the most appropriate solution for you.

In order to make a warranty claim you MUST follow the following steps. Failure to follow the required process may result in unintended postal costs or at worst, a voided warranty.

  1. Firstly, make first contact with EMG Precision to make a warranty claim by completing the online ‘Warranty Claim Form. You must be a registered member of the EMG Precision Website in order to register a warranty claim.

  2. EMG Precision will reply to your claim confirming what the next steps are based on the information you provided on the Warranty Form.

  3. If the Spindle needs to be inspected to form part of the ‘Root Cause Investigation’, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation’ number will be issued along with some paperwork.

  4. The Spindle must be returned to EMG Precision in its original protective packaging by a tracked, insured to the original purchase price of the spindle and signed for Logistics Company. The Spindle must be returned at cost to the Buyer. The supplied RMA Number and form must be included with the Spindle along with Proof of Purchase and any other materials required to support your warranty claim.

  5. If the spindle is found to be mishandled, a quote will be issued to repair if requested. If the spindle is warrantied, the repair process will begin as soon as possible. Not to exceed 10 business days. If warrantied the cost of Return Postage of the Spindle will be refunded.

 

In the event of a warrantied claim parts and labour are covered by EMG Precision Ltd. Bearings are not covered in this warranty unless found to be damaged at first installation. The bearing damage must be reported within 8 workings days of the registered, signed for delivery date of your Spindle.

 

Shipping under warranty.

If the spindle is deemed a warranty issue, EMG Precision Ltd. will pay for return ground shipping. If customer needs the spindle sooner, the customer must pay the difference between ground and the desired service. EMG Precision will insure the spindle for the cost of the repair. If customer wishes the have insurance above that, the difference must be paid by customer.

 

Terms and Conditions

  1. We make no warranty concerning, and we shall have no liability for any costs related to removing or assembling the spindle(s) to customer’s or end user’s machine or equipment. We do not have any liability for any cost associated with loss of production, work flow interruption, downtime or other consequential damages.

  2. Our duty to repair or replace shall terminate if unauthorized repairs are attempted.  Warranties will not be honoured if the spindle is not paid for in full.

  3. All goods that are not arranged to be collected by the responsible party within 60 days of repair completion will be considered abandoned. EMG Precision Ltd. will assume ownership of abandoned items. If the customer cannot make payment for any reason, we must receive notification in writing within 60 days of repair completion date in order to waive this policy.

  4. Any repair/replacement under warranty will be without the recognition of expenses by EMG Precision Ltd. arising from any technical assistance activities of the Purchaser. Any assistance in repair or replacement by the customer will in no way be deductible from the repair or replacement costs, and cannot be charged to EMG Precision Ltd.

  5. Not covered by warranty are defects due to normal wear and tear of those parts which, by their nature, are subject to rapid and continuous usage (e.g. gaskets, belts, bearings, etc.). In particular, EMG Precision Ltd.  does not guarantee a specific duration in hours of the bearings as it depends on various factors including: the degree of balancing of the tools, the types of machining, shock and/or mechanical stresses that depend on the specific application. EMG Precision Ltd. is also not responsible for damage or deterioration of any kind caused by use other than that intended in the Manuals, or arising from misuse, or failure to suspend the use of the components in the presence of malfunction, or from any other cause not attributable to EMG Precision Ltd. including the failure by the buyer of the requirements for the storage of components according to the aforementioned.

  6. The warranty loses its effectiveness whenever parts or supplies not supplied by the EMG Precision Ltd. are installed or when modifications are made or foreign replacement parts are used without the expressed written consent by EMG Precision Ltd.  or when repair and/or tampering by unauthorised personnel has been carried out.

  7. No responsibility can be attributed to EMG Precision Ltd.  for damages of any kind that may result from improper use, bad maintenance and/or behaviours different from those contained in the instructions for use and maintenance. It is the exclusive responsibility and burden of the Purchaser to ensure that products manufactured with the components supplied by EMG Precision Ltd.  are in compliance with current safety standards, and to be liable for any claim in respect of any damage, relieving EMG Precision Ltd.  in this regard.

  8. The warranty is subject to revocation, in case of Buyer’s failure to notify the EMG Precision Ltd.  in writing within 8 days from the time the Buyer has made the discovery of the defect or lack of quality, as well as failure to express a request, always to be notified in the forms described above, to EMG Precision Ltd.  to make a warranty repair. In addition, the Buyer forfeits the warranty in case he does not allow EMG Precision Ltd.  to carry out all necessary checks or if the buyer doesn’t answer a request within 2 weeks to return any defective parts after EMG Precision Ltd.  request to have those parts returned or in case of any repairs not expressly authorised by EMG Precision Ltd.

  9. This present warranty excludes any other damages, including those arising from the failure or reduced production, as well as indirect and consequential damages, and terminates this Agreement, even if EMG Precision Ltd. has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

  10. Drawings with measurements and pictures are supplied for example purposes for understanding text in an easier way. The manufacturer, due to company policy of developing and updating its products, reserves the right to modify functional and aesthetic features, to update drawings of every functional or accessory parts, to break off the production and supply, this without any compulsory of giving information to anybody. Further-more EMG Precision Ltd. reserves the right to make modifications to every structural and functional part and make modifications on supply of accessories and spare parts without any compulsory of sharing of information to anybody and with any rights.
